“From each according to her ability,” Taryn said, quoting some folk-wisdom that sounded vaguely familiar. “I’ll be frank, it was quite amazing watching you all. As if you were three parts of the same organism. Amazing. I wouldn’t have guessed that was your first time outside of a simulation.”
Timur sat down, abruptly. “Well, now that you put it that way, I think I’m going to go throw up.”
“Like going on a bender, without the fun of the actual intoxication,” Mattei said.

Love that last line! LOL
Interesting scene, definitely makes me want to know more!
First, can I just say I actually love the title “untitled romance with ray guns”? I would buy it just for that title. As for the scene very well written for a draft. I already have a sense of the characters.
Thanks all! This book’s been a long time in the making (original idea for the main romantic pair dates from 1979). I’m happy that the excerpts here have entertained you. Currently I’m looking at completion by close of 2014, with a release date in the first quarter of 2015.
I really like that last line. 🙂
